Happy Birthday Little Man!!

Three years ago this morning my little man was born. And when I say little man I mean all 9 pounds 12 ounces of little.

Bloggy Boot Camp I can't wait!!

Tomorrow I leave for Bloggy Bootcamp and I do not have anything ready to go. My husband decided to tag along with the Pirate and Princess which means extra work for me. I will be doing tons of laundry and packing today but it will be so worth it tomorrow when we arrive in Baltimore.

I am so looking forward to Saturday, I hope to learn so much and meet some new friends.

Go Team USA Hockey!!!

One thing about me that you may not know is that I am a HUGE hockey fan. I have been one since I went to a big college hockey school. I have been a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan for years, yes I am admitting it. Even though they have not won a Stanley Cup in years, I am a devoted blue and white fan.

I love hockey and have enjoyed watching this years Olympics where Team USA has gone undefeated. My two year old even enjoys watching the games with me shouting goal when the score. He is going to be a hockey player, I just know it!

Team USA plays today at 3:00 ET vs. Team Canada. I am hoping it is going to be one of those amazing games for the ages. Unfortunatly I have to work today so my devoted husband is going to tivo the game so I can watch it after I get home from work tonight. We will have some Labatt Blue and a BBQ Chicken pizza and watch the game.

Good luck Team USA, bring home the gold!

Taking Time for Me..

As most of you know, when you become a mom, you don’t really have much time for yourself. Today I woke up and my legs were hurting even worse than Tuesday night. I couldn’t even go down the stairs without wanting to cry. So instead of going to the gym I took some time out for me. I took the Princess to school and the Pirate to his 3 hour pre-school and went home. Then I did something that I haven’t done in years. I took a shower!!!!

I know you are thinking, you haven’t showered in years. Well of course I have but I haven’t had a REAL shower in so long. You know the kind where you can just stand under the shower and let the water beat down on your neck. The kind where no little head is popping around the curtain to say MOMMY I need this, MOMMY the Princess did this to me. Just a peaceful and quiet shower. I think I was in there an entire FIFTEEN MINUTES. I know, I know it was self indulgence at its best. I was even able to shave my legs without cutting myself because no one was surprising me or shouting at me to HURRY UP. My husband wasn’t in the bathroom shaving trying to talk to me. I was able to just have a quiet and relaxing shower.

Now after that shower I got dressed and back to cleaning up before the pirate needed to be picked up from pre-school. I don’t have that much time on my hands to take an entire 3 hours off. But it was nice to have those couple of minutes to myself.

Ok so now you guys think I’m a dork, but to me, that fifteen minutes was so refreshing. I didn’t worry about needing to clean the kitchen, or start the laundry. I just had a bit of time for me. I think this is something I need to do more of, not shower, but just take some time off for me. I used to think in order for me to have some time to myself, I had to carve out an entire length of time, but now I realize fifteen minutes can be just as good.
So new year, new me, I am going to be taking some time every week, doing something small for myself just to help me recharge a little. Do other mommies out there do this? If so what do you do to recharge. Let’s share some secrets to help each other along the way.

Ouch my legs…

So as part of my new year, new me attitude I joined a gym. My friend Amanda who is in AMAZING shape is going with me on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a class. The class is Body Pump, and after my first class I think it should be called Body Torture!!! Oh my aching legs you wouldn’t believe how many squats we had to do. Now before you think I’m a wimp, even Amanda was sweating in the end.

But OMG it was amazing, I ache but feel so much better. I made it through class and am so excited to get back to class next week. Thanks Amanda for calling me forcing me to go to class with you. It was so worth it.

I am hoping that by putting this out there I will be forced to keep working out to get back to my pre-baby body. So feel free to keep me on track, and don’t let me slip!! I need the support of others to pull through this.

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!



I hope your Valentine’s Day was as enjoyable as mine. The first present I received is that I was able to sleep in until 7:30! Can you believe it, 7:30!! My darling husband did everything he could to keep the kido's down stairs and away from sleeping mommy as long as possible. But finally there was a munity and up the stairs they went and next thing I know they are jump up and down on the bed screaming HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

That is when the kido's told me I had presents. Now we had promised NO presents for Valentine’s Day. We just came home from Disney World and that was present enough. Apparently my husband thought I was just saying that, and he purchased something little for me just in case I was being coy and became upset that there were no presents. Now why would he think that? I have NEVER EVER said I didn’t want something when I really did (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). But I really did mean it this time. Nerveless he has met the wrath of Kim one too many times and he came prepared.

First my daughter hands me a present and declares that she is opening it for me. She handed me Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice CD. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet but I love Tim so I am sure it will be awesome. That is when my son decided to open my other present a heart shaped box of chocolates. But not any old heart shaped box of chocolates. It was a very special box!!



Yep that is my husband for you; he sure has a sense of humor. He knows that I am obsessed with enjoy the Twilight series. So he figured this would be a fun gift.

That night we made a wonderful dinner which was a great ending to a great valentines day.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

Today is the Princesses 6th Birthday!! I can't quite believe that it has been six years since we had her, where does the time go?

We are in Disney World still so I planned a day fit for a princess.

To start the day off, we headed over to the Magic Kingdom for a trip to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, which was a birthday gift from grandma and grandpa.



After getting all princessy, we headed to Cinderella's Castle for breakfast, just the Princess and Mom.



We met up with daddy and little brother after breakfast and spent a wonderful day at Magic Kingdom. That night we headed over to 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella & Prince Charming. The Princess was lucky enough to be picked to dance with Prince Charming and to this day she believes he is her prince.



After dancing with her prince, she had yet another birthday sweet, which ended her magical day.


Happy 6th birthday my little princess. I love you so much.

Off to Disney for some fun in the sun!

I am so excited, we are all packed and ready to go to the airport for our Disney Trip. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge for 7 nights. I'll be sure to stay in touch during our trip.

Hello, and welcome to my very first blog. Just some info about me, my name is Kim I am happily married to a marvelous man for 7 years now. I am the proud mom to a 5 year old precocious princess and a 2 year old scurvy pirate. I finally decided to jump into the blogosphere with a blog of my very own, mainly because I just love reading blogs and wanted to join in on the fun. I am a little nervous since I am not completely sure what I am doing but this completely will be about my family, my sewing and more.

New Year, New Me

I know, I know, most everyone says this for New Years. I have said this in the past and then next thing I know, its December and the year is gone, along with my resolutions. This year is going to be different I just know it.

So here I am checking number one off my list.
• Start a blog!

Not that I know what I am doing or anything. :-) But I think this will be good for me, sort of like therapy. A little over 3 years ago, I became a stay-at-home mom, at the time I did not understand how hard of a job it was going to be. Its been some time now and I am still trying to navigate through the day the best way I can. Somewhere along the way, I lost myself and have now decided it time to take the bull by the horns and get myself back again. I am hoping that having a blog will help me accomplish that.

So Happy New Years I hope 2010 is as good year for all.
